This certification is based on experience, as well as qualification, this is unique to the SSI system.
Unlike other agencies, with SSI you can only become an AOWD with
qualification and experience, you need to have logged a minimum
of 24 dives and be qualified in 4 Specialty areas, that makes SSI AOWD
course unique. Other agencies allow you to buy qualification after
qualification – our view is, ‘there is no substitute for
